How can I turn off the User Account Control - UAC - Windows Vista



Click on Start (Vista Logo) in your bottom left hand Corner of your screen. Then click Control Panel. In the control panel, click on Classic View on the left hand side. Then click User Accounts. Then click Turn User Account Control on or off. Then uncheck the box next to Use User Account Control to help protect your computer. Click OK to apply the changes.


NOTE: if you are following these instructions in order to work around a problem you are having. You should re-enable the UAC or User Access Control again when you are finished. This is a security feature for Windows Vista. Click here for instructions to Re-Enable User Account Control.
