Set a Password in Windows Vista
The steps below will show you how to set a password on every user account in Windows Vista or 2008. You can also use the steps to change a password but you must be logged into Windows in order to change the passwords.
- Right click on Computer and choose Manage.
- Then click on “System Tools”,
- Next click “Local User and Groups”,
- Next click on the “Users” folder.
- Now in the right hand side of your screen you will see a list of your users that have access to your computer. You want to set a password for every user in the list.
- To set a password, right click on a user and choose set password. ASG recommends setting a completely different password for each user in the list. Click here for a screenshot
