 ASG Windows Security Checklist

Step 1 - Make sure windows is fully up to date - Click here and install all the latest windows updates. Each time you finish installing an update, go to the website again to make sure there are no more updates. Because updates install in a sequence. Every time you install a few updates, more updates are immediately available after you revisit the update website. A lot of people have to install updates and go back to the site to check for more at least 3-5 times. Your computer should be on Service Pack 3 when your finished. After your done installing updates. You can check to see if your on Service Pack 3 by right clicking on "my computer", then choose "properties", then under the "general tab" it will say Service Pack 1 or 2 or 3. Of course we want it to say Service Pack 3. Keep updating if it does not say Service Pack 3.

Step 1 - Install No Script for Firefox, Highly Recommend for Maximum Browser Security

Step 2 - Install McAfee Site Advisor, Displays a Site Rating in Both Internet Explorer and Firefox so you know what websites you should Avoid.

Step 3 - Install CCleaner -Run once a day for Maximum Protection. This Cleans all of your temp files and history from your Web Browsers and a lot of other Programs like Microsoft Office, eMule, Kazaa, Google Toolbar, Nero, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip and more.

* ASG highly recommends adding antivirus, antispyware, and a firewall in addition to the windows firewall. Most firewalls run along side the Windows Firewall with little or no issues.

*ASG does not guarantee your computers security will not be breached, although using the ASG Security Setup does make your security significantly higher than usual. Overall this security setup highly reduces the chance of a successful attack.
