The answer is Internet Explorer with Content Advisor enabled and Downloading disabled. (make sure you dont have firefox or any other web browsers installed. Email us for free assistance if your unsure how to check)

 

  • If you have Internet Explorer with Content Advisor enabled you will be able to prevent your children from going to sites that may contain adult content or other content unsuitable for our young ones.
  • If you have Internet Explorer with Downloading disabled you can prevent your child from downloading things to your computer. Also keeps them from installing another web browser other than internet explorer in order to get around this protection your trying to use. Other browsers do not user content advisor, even if you have it enabled in internet explorer

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click the Content tab.
  3. Click Enable to turn Content Advisor on.
  4. Now its on, lets choose some settings. On the Ratings tab of the Content Advisor, click one of the categories listed, and then move the slider to use one of the following: None, Limited, or Unrestricted. (limited is the best choice if you want to control access to sites that would fall in that category)
  5. Want to control an exact website? Click the Approved Sites tab and enter the name of a specific site that you want to control access to. Then click Always or Never. ( Always allows access and Never denies access )
  6. When done, click OK, then OK again.



HOW TO: Disable Downloading in Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools, then select Internet Options.
  3. Now click the Security tab, then select the Internet zone icon, and then click the Custom Level button for the internet zone.
  4. In the list of settings you will find the Downloads heading. Your looking for File Download. You want to select the Disable radio button.
  5. Click OK twice and your done. (repeat these steps to re-enable downloading, just select the enable radio button)

NOTE: You will get the message " current security settings do not allow the downloading of files " whenever you try to download something in the future.
