Windows Security Checklist - ASG
ASG develops the security setups from using security settings that are tested and approved by many security companies, researchers, and departments from across the world. ASG security setups are different in one way because they are specifically designed to be compatible with todays standards of the computer user. ASG follows the National Institute of Standards and Technology closely and implements their security techniques into our own security setups. ASG believes that no computers security checklist is complete without following the ASG security checklist. When added to other security setups, the ASG security checklist increases the security of home based systems by 90% on average. *Not to mention if you have no security at all the ASG security setup does make your computer secure. ASG Windows Security Checklist Step 1 - Password Protect User Accounts Step 2 - User Rights Agreement Local Security Policy Setup Step 3 - Security Options Local Security Policy Setup Step 4 - Choose either ASG Light or High Security Setup and install it Step 5 - Install Antivirus - skip if already installed Step 6 - Install Antispyware - skip if already installed Step 7 - Install Firewall - skip if already installed Step 8 - Install Firefox - use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, this is the safest Step 9 - Setup OpenDNS - enable the block suspicious responses feature and block spyware sites feature additional items - not required but recommend for added security Step 1 - Install No Script for Firefox Step 2 - Install McAfee Site Advisor Step 3 - Install CCleaner - run once a day for maximum protection
* ASG highly recommends adding antivirus, antispyware, and a firewall in addition to the windows firewall. Most firewalls run along side the Windows Firewall with little or no issues. *ASG does not guarantee your computers security will not be breached, although using the ASG Security Setup does make your security significantly higher than usual. Overall this security setup highly reduces the chance of a successful attack. *ASG is not affiliated with National Institute of Standards and Technology in any way.
